The role in the field

Depending on the project and classification, a steel erector may support receiving, rigging and positioning, assembly, bolting, fitting and installation of the members shown on the drawings. Lifting methods, exclusion zones, fall protection and interfaces with operations are coordinated before execution.

Part of CNC’s experience involves existing operating plants. In that context, the sequence must account for access, production and other trades in the work area.

Projects and work environments

Steel supports equipment, access and process systems across industrial markets. Published CNC projects include structural work associated with Ivaco Rolling Mills, Greenfield Ethanol and the Jacques Cartier Bridge.

Schedules, travel, outdoor conditions and site requirements vary by assignment.

New erection and modification work inside an existing facility can require different sequencing and access planning. The posting should identify the project context, expected activities and any experience needed for the assignment.

Apply for a steel-erection role

Use your résumé to identify structures installed, operating-plant experience, lifting methods, training and availability. The official posting remains the source for all employment conditions.

Before applying, review the location, schedule, duration, travel, classification and required credentials. Describe your own role precisely—such as positioning, bolting, fitting, welding or support—without sharing confidential drawings, lift plans or client information.
