Plan the extraction path before the outage
A tube bundle cannot be treated as an isolated pick. The team needs the exchanger identification, bundle dimensions and weight, extraction clearance, equipment access, laydown area and any obstructions. The work plan must also account for isolation, drainage, opening the exchanger, rigging interfaces and the condition in which the bundle will be handed to the next party.
CNC's own extractor equipment can be incorporated into that plan when it matches the exchanger and site conditions. For heavy handling, CNC also documents experience developing lifting plans. The final method remains equipment- and site-specific.
Define maintenance, repair and retubing responsibilities
Owners searching for heat-exchanger repair or retubing often need several specialties in one outage. A clear RFQ should separate:
- access, isolation and mechanical opening;
- tube-bundle extraction and controlled placement;
- cleaning method and waste handling;
- inspection and acceptance criteria;
- repair or retubing work;
- testing, reassembly and return-to-service approval.
CNC will identify which parts are within its approved scope and which require owner resources or a qualified specialist. This avoids implying that extraction equipment alone covers every exchanger service.

Integrate exchanger work with the shutdown
