Process Piping Installation for Industrial Plants

CNC Mechanical installs industrial process and service piping in facilities across Quebec and Ontario. The team works from approved drawings, specifications and test requirements, coordinating tie-ins and equipment interfaces around the site’s operating constraints.

Every line has a defined service, material class, design basis and acceptance path. CNC reviews those project documents before assigning labour, handling methods and sequence. Engineering authority, code responsibilities and inspection requirements remain governed by the project and applicable jurisdiction.

From issued package to field installation

A process piping scope may involve material receipt, field handling, supports, equipment connections, tie-ins and testing. CNC performs the installation activities assigned to its work package and coordinates the handoffs that sit around them.

The pre-mobilization review should confirm:

  • current piping and instrumentation diagrams, isometrics and line lists;
  • material classes, specifications and traceability requirements;
  • weld, examination and inspection criteria;
  • tie-in boundaries, isolation and work windows;
  • supports, access and lifting requirements; and
  • test packages and turnover documentation.

Pipe fabrication, specialist inspection, heat treatment, painting and insulation are subcontractor-coordinated services in CNC’s documented delivery model. They are not represented as self-performed process piping capabilities. See pipe fabrication and installation for the division of responsibilities.

Tie-ins, supports and testing

Tie-in work requires a clear owner-approved plan for shutdown, isolation, verification and return to service. CNC can schedule the field work within a larger plant shutdown when multiple systems or trades share the outage window.

Related pipe supports and tubing and hydrostatic testing can be reviewed as separate, defined work packages. Connections to process equipment may also require coordination with boilermaking or millwright services.

Documented industrial experience

CNC’s existing portfolio records refinery piping work at Valero, FRP piping supply and installation at Domtar, piping installation at Suncor and a gas-line scope associated with the Jacques Cartier Bridge. The examples indicate experience across varied industrial environments and materials; they do not imply that every material, code or activity is available on every project. Client names, photos, values and detailed results require publication approval.

Frequently asked questions

Frequently asked questions

Does CNC install both process and service piping?

Yes. CNC’s legacy materials document both process and service piping installation, subject to the specifications and responsibilities defined for each project.

Can CNC execute plant tie-ins?

Tie-ins can be reviewed when the RFQ defines boundaries, isolation, schedule, inspection, testing and return-to-service responsibilities.

Who performs pipe fabrication and specialist treatments?

CNC’s documented model coordinates fabrication, specialist inspection, heat treatment, painting and insulation through subcontractors.

What information is needed for pricing?

Provide current drawings, line and tie-in lists, materials, specifications, design conditions, supports, test packages, schedule and site constraints.
