Industrial Pipe Supports and Tubing Installation

CNC Mechanical installs industrial pipe supports, instrumentation tubing and hydraulic tubing as part of defined plant mechanical scopes in Quebec and Ontario. The work is coordinated with the supported lines, connected equipment and approved project documents.

Supports and small-bore tubing may appear secondary to the main piping system, but their routing, restraint, accessibility and protection affect the finished installation. CNC reviews these details with the field conditions before establishing the work sequence.

Pipe-support installation

Pipe supports must correspond to the engineered support schedule and installed line geometry. CNC’s field scope may include receiving, positioning and installing approved support components, then coordinating the assigned inspection and closeout steps.

The RFQ should identify:

  • support locations, types and unique tags;
  • loads, directions and any special movement requirements supplied by engineering;
  • connection, anchor and attachment details;
  • material grades, coatings and environmental requirements;
  • field-verification dimensions; and
  • inspection, adjustment and turnover criteria.

CNC does not infer support design from a site photograph. Loads, allowable attachments and changes to existing structures must be approved by the appropriate technical authority. Structural interfaces can be reviewed with CNC’s structural steel services when field installation work is required.

Instrumentation and hydraulic tubing

CNC’s documented piping capabilities include instrumentation and hydraulic tubing. A defined tubing package should provide routing or hook-up details, material and size, connection requirements, cleanliness criteria, identification, testing and termination responsibilities.

The field plan also needs to account for vibration, heat, traffic, maintenance access and the equipment manufacturer’s requirements. CNC coordinates the installation assigned to its scope without replacing the project engineer, instrument authority or equipment vendor.

For the larger connected system, see process piping installation. If pressure testing is required, the boundaries and acceptance requirements can be reviewed through CNC’s hydrostatic testing services.

Plan the package for efficient field work

Send current drawings, support schedules, tubing details, bills of material and equipment information with the RFQ. Include access constraints, installed obstructions, work windows, isolation requirements, material-supply responsibility and the required inspection and turnover documents.

CNC can integrate the work with a broader industrial piping assignment or coordinate it within a planned plant shutdown when access depends on an outage.

Frequently asked questions

Frequently asked questions

Does CNC design pipe supports?

This service page covers field installation. Support loads, types, locations and connection details must come from the approved engineering package.

What types of tubing does CNC work with?

CNC’s documented capabilities include instrumentation and hydraulic tubing. Material, dimensions, connections and testing are project-specific.

Can supports and tubing be quoted with process piping?

Yes. CNC can review them as defined work packages within a broader industrial piping scope.

What information is needed for pricing?

Provide drawings, support schedules, tubing hook-ups, materials, connections, test requirements, access conditions, schedule and turnover expectations.
